Sabancı University will host The Third Workshop on Quantum Technologies and Computing (SUQUNET), bringing together researchers working in the field of quantum technologies. The workshop will take place at Sabancı University on September 4, 2026, between 09:15 and 17:30.

SUQUNET, which will bring together researchers from different fields of quantum technologies, will allow for the discussion of current research in a broad framework ranging from quantum computing and communication to quantum sensing and materials technologies. The workshop aims to strengthen dialogue between different research communities, evaluate the development process from quantum devices that can be used in the near future to scalable quantum systems, and strengthen international collaborations.
Quantum Technologies Will Be Addressed Under Four Main Themes
The workshop program will be structured around four main themes: quantum computing, machine learning and optimization; quantum communication and space-based networks; quantum sensing and photonics; and supporting materials and devices.
Under the heading of quantum computing, machine learning, and optimization, near-term algorithms for combinatorial optimization, error reduction in noisy processors, quantum machine learning, and post-quantum cryptography will be discussed. Quantum communication and space-based networks will cover satellite-based quantum key distribution, entanglement distribution, quantum repeaters, and space-compatible quantum memories for overcoming fiber loss over long distances.
The quantum sensing and photonics theme will focus on light-matter interaction at the nanoscale for sensing and metrology, integrated quantum photonics, single-photon devices, quantum resonators, and quantum-assisted positioning, navigation, and timing. The supporting materials and devices section will address solid-state color centers, MEMS/NEMS and two-dimensional nanomaterials, and the condensed matter physics of low-dimensional electronic systems.
